Bio

Geneva Winters found her love of movement through growing up dancing both modern and ballet methods.  It was that passion for movement and the body that led her to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.  She attended Goucher College and received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance Science in 2015.  She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2018.   Geneva was eager to continue her focused studies of orthopedics and dance medicine and sought out opportunities to grow her knowledge.  She completed research in the study of cardiovascular endurance of college dancers, which she later went on to present at the Performing Arts Medical Association (PAMA) conference in 2017. She also completed the Essentials of Performing Arts Medicine course through PAMA and received her certificate. Geneva is a board member of Healthy Performers Nevada, which is a nonprofit dedicated to improving health care for performing artists. She also provides backstage treatment for NEURO TOUR Physical Therapy for Broadway shows that come through Reno.

Geneva has remained in the Reno area after graduation, working in outpatient physical therapy.  She has also focused her continuing education pursuits on studying the McKenzie method taking several courses in their spine and extremity series.  Geneva’s clinical approach believes in listening to and collaborating with each patient to create a personalized treatment that meets their individual goals.  Geneva has experience in outpatient orthopedic settings, working with patients ranging from high-level athletes and dancers, and the geriatric population.  To fundamentally improve the patient’s quality of life, she treats a variety of orthopedic conditions, focusing on the root causes of the condition as opposed to treating the symptoms.

Originally from Arizona, Geneva is establishing herself in Reno, where she enjoys hiking, yoga, and spending time with her husband. She recently got married in October of 2023 in her hometown of Sedona, AZ.
